Michael Medina was born in Houston, Texas, and raised in Galveston County. In 2006, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served until 2011, separating as a Sergeant of Marines. During his service, he deployed to Al Asad, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following his military service, Michael pursued higher education, earning an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, followed by a Bachelor's and Master’s degree in Criminology. In 2016, he joined the Galveston Police Department, where he served with distinction and became a member of the department’s SWAT Team. Shortly thereafter, Michael was accepted to Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University.

In addition to his career in law enforcement and legal studies, Michael has worked in Veterans Affairs, helping fellow Veterans navigate and access their educational benefits. He also has hands-on experience in the demolition, construction, and refinery occupations.

Outside of his professional life, Michael is dedicated to his family and enjoys staying active through weight training and high-intensity workouts, including the Murph Challenge.
